Community Gardening – Research

October 22, 2009

If you would like to participate in the project described below, please reply to this blog and I will pass on your details to Bethaney (ed.) .  The information provided by this study could be very useful for securing support for new community gardens.

Dear Community Gardeners,

My name is Bethaney Turner and I am a lecturer in the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Canberra and I am interested in hearing about your experiences of community gardening. I would like to explore a range of issues, from how and why you have taken on a growing plot to what you grow and how you use it.  More broadly, this research explores the relationships between participation in community gardens in Canberra and issues of urban health, social inclusion and active civic participation.

If you would like further information and/or you would like to participate, please phone, email or write to me and we can arrange a suitable date, time and venue for an interview.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Bethaney Turner
