House with Organic/Permaculture Garden – Kaleen

November 1, 2009

Dear COGS gardeners,

I’ve recently left Canberra to take up a new job in Sydney, so this is my goodbye to COGS. Unfortunately, I can’t take my garden with me, but I would like to see it taken good care of by someone with green thumbs and experience in organic gardening.
The garden has been organic for the last nine years and includes the following permaculture features: 24 young fruit trees (2-6 years old) that are starting to produce a lot; 6 berry bushes and grape vines; 8 fertile vegetable growing beds; a herb garden; 2 rainwater tanks (8000 + 5600 L); a fish pond positioned to reflect winter sun into the veranda; 2 cubic metres of compost ready to use; a grey water recycling system. (I also had ducks and honeybees in this little paradise, but they are now in Sydney to help me start a new garden).
The house has 3 bedrooms, study and double garage and will be advertised for rent in the next week or so by Maloney’s, including on the allhomes web site. Please contact Maloney’s for inspections and all details about the house. You can contact me to get more specific information and advice about the garden (email cogs.jswinnen@spamgourmet.com). Please pass this on to other organic gardeners who may be interested.

I wish you all good luck and happy gardening,
Johan
