No hassle getting peppermint Ray - the fella from Bungendore has that, and can bring in other herbs, he says with a bit of notice: the little plant i got 2 wks or so ago is taking off now!
I'm hoping to find Pennyroyal, and some of the chamomiles, and meadowsweet, soon. Even Calendula will be a good addition, havent grown it for a while but i've used calendula washes and creams for years - great stuff. Have you seen all the hypericum flowering out by the river lately? At Kambah and other spots, at least.

hopefully more rain coming soon
happy nearly full moon planting too

Yes, much appreciated information Skipperoo. I am looking for more medicinal herbs for my garden in order to make salves and so on. It's really hard to find a good variety at nurseries, and I'm afraid, for all my best intentions I am not so good with growing from seed!

I have had a hard time tracking down peppermint (for example and this is one amongst many I'd like) in the nurseries, so I'll definitely check out the Bungendore connection.

happy gardening - this cooler weather is a treat!

thanks for that Skipperoo

Havent been to the southside market yet, thanks for reminding me. My wild rocket came from them or another nursery selling at the Epic markets - I think the Coast fellow, and its still going strong! Many herbs grow in cycles, I think, pennyroyal eg or some chamomiles and lots of tender smaller things are ok for a year or two, then need to be re planted if they've had a hard time for a while, from what I can see...

Happy midsummer gardening out there - stay cool!

Hi Rosie

At the farmers market every Sunday morning at CIT Garran you will find a nurseryman from Bungendore selling, as well as other things, a wide range of herbs. His range is vast and I've not seen a lot of them before. Best to 'come on down' and check out what he has. He is located outside the entry/exit of the gym (the female toilet end).

Hi,

I’m also interested in finding a good range of locally grown herbs as well as succulents. An email from anyone with this information would be much, much appreciated.

Regards,
