Earwig Problems

November 18, 2010

Hi,

I have a question about pest control. Last year my veg garden was inundated with earwigs, I used a pyrethrum spray and put out beer traps to no effect. The whole garden was eaten to the ground ,only the mature tomato plants survived. Please any helpful ideas would be appreciated as I have as yet to do my planting out.

Regards Daniella

I used small containers of vege oil..they seem to love it and flock to them and drown. Over winter we let our chooks run free over the beds. all of that has seem to bring the numbers down enough so that I have some seedling growing this year without being eaten to the ground.

    Try Linseed Oil also.
